SoPoDOG Mission

    The South Portland Dog Owners Group recognizes that in many of our households, our dog is a member of the family. As dog owners, we are responsible for the health and happiness of our canine companions.

    We support access to public spaces for dogs accompanied by their owners, while at the same time respecting the right of all community members to enjoy public recreational facilities. We are committed to working with individuals, groups and local governing bodies in our community to promote responsible dog ownership. We demonstrate our commitment to the community by volunteering to preserve the open spaces we enjoy.
